The final competition of the largest start-up accelerator in Russia and Eastern Europe, GenerationS, took place on April 27 at MMD in Moscow. Three prize winners shared a prize of 16 million rubles and received an opportunity to sign long-term contracts.

The main GenerationS event traditionally bore a format of a technological show and brought together dozens of entrepreneurs, Russian and foreign investors, corporate representatives and other participants of the innovative ecosystem.

35 best GenerationS-2017 start-ups from the energy industry, metallurgy, fashion and media, argriculture, production and financial technologies, and dual-use technologies presented their projects to a large public and competed for the final prize.

The key even of the final was a presentation of the seven finalist teams – one per each industrial field. The committee chose three prize winners who shared the grand-prix of the finals – 16 million roubles.

The most promising projects will be able to discuss future collaboration with partners of the accelerator ― Microsoft, Faberlic, STS Media, «VimpelCom», «UEC «Saturn», «Voentelecom», «Roselectronica», «AUC "Ilyushin"», « RT-Business Development », Krastsvetmet and R&D Park, EFKO Group, NMGK Group and others.

As a result of the RVC GenerationS-2016 over 50 deals were made between technological entrepreneurs, corporations and investors. GenerationS finalists have conducted over 30 pilot projects with accelerator partners to test business hypotheses and state processes. The total amount of investments into the finalists comprise 2,39 bln roubles.

RVC holds GenerationS since 2013. In 2017 GenerationS received 3470 applications for participation from technological start-ups from over 13 countries. Over 100 start-ups chosen by experts went through an intensive education course. The accelerator includes the design of individual plans for project development in collaboration with corporations, attendance of partners' production assets, international internships, specialized training programmes dedicated to key topics in technological entrepreneurship.
